We all understand that Disney World do not have theme parks in Africa. Well, for a bit not yet. Then why is it that individuals are talking about taking a vacation in Walt Disney World's African amusement park lodge?

They are really talking about The Animal Kingdom Vacation Lodge which is in the southwest corner of Disney located close to the Animal Kingdom amusement park. This excitingly themed and interesting lodge was officially stated opened in 2001. The Animal Kingdom Lodge is a fusion of African tribal native architecture with the exotic rugged design of East African National Park lodges. The Animal Kingdom Vacation Lodge was developed by Peter Dominick of Disney's Wilderness Lodge fame.

Stunningly impressive view of the 33 acre surface architecture with streaming streams and elevated rock outcroppings can be seen from half of the rooms at the lodge. Hundreds of friendly animals and birds of primarily African origin stroll easily at the area. The majority of the virtually 1,300 spaces are about 340 square feet big and decorated with handmade African furniture and furnishings. Nearly all rooms include a balcony to see the impressive surrounding.

The Animal Kingdom Lodge also provide great dining in a casual setting at the Jiko dining establishment. Jiko serves light, fast and simple dishes. Another restaurant, the Boma is a household dining establishment. This dining establishment is the African variation of the Whispering Canyon restaurant found at the Fort Wilderness Lodge and Villas. Boma serves buffet food in African thatched roofing systems and many dishes are grills - African tribal style cooking.

The Animal Kingdom Lodge is connected to the remainder of the Disney World by buses as its place is rather remote and out of the way.

There are two wings at the lodge, branching from the back of the resort are the Kudu Trial and Zebra Trial forming a semi circle around the central wildlife savanna. Each wing have seven five story buildings with guest spaces for visitor to remain.

The very best spaces are on third and 4th floors. This is because these rooms are high enough to overlook the entire savanna and yet at the exact same time just low enough to value the flora and fauna at virtually ground eye level. The second storey spaces are too low to watch the savanna and spaces on the 5th floor are too high up for viewing the friendly animals close up.

There are 2 smaller wings called the Ostrich Trail and the Giraffe Trial. However, rooms from these wings do not take pleasure in views as beautiful as the ones at the Kudu and Zebra Trail.

By staying in The Animal Kingdom Resort, you not just have a Disney Orlando vacation, but a touch of the African plains as well. Fascinating mix, do not you assume so? So if you are considering taking a Disney vacation, why rule out staying at the Animal Kingdom hotel at Disney World?
